Izzy had to go off the the Isuzu mechanic so we were into
the swing of things early. When we got the CV boot replaced in Kalbarri the ABS
and traction control lights came on (because they weren’t working) and the
mechanic said that he must have got some grease on the sensor and he couldn’t
undo the code...so we had to get to an Isuzu dealer to plug it into their
computer. It was supposed to be a super quick job....two hours later I was
still waiting, and it seemed like it was more than a bit of grease on the
sensor so they dropped me back to the van park where the boys and De had spent
the morning in the pool. A few hours later I received the dreaded phone
call...nup he had stuffed it (Mt Kalbarri) and the part was $650 and there was only one of them
in Australia...in Melbourne....As I didn’t break it I wasn’t going to pay for
it and there was buckley’s and no chance of getting it sorted after lunch on
the Thursday before ANZAC Day so we decided to just leave it until we got to
Darwin.....
Back at the park we had another swim and then headed into
see some of the sights. We started at the Japanese cemetery that dating to back
to the days where many a young life was lost trying to strike it rich diving
for mother of pearl shell. Similarly in the main street there were a number of statues
of the founders of the pearl farming industry in the north west as well as one
of the hard hat divers. It wasn’t exactly riveting but it got them out of the
pool!
Shoes are an optional accessory up here! |
Back to the park and amazingly enough they stayed out of the
pool as both of their eyes were starting to burn from the ultra high chlorine
levels....they might go blind but at least they won’t catch any bugs!
We caught up with Dave and Michelle again after dinner as the
game of spot light took of from where it
finished yesterday. We had an early start tomorrow for the dawn service so we
wanted to get to bed early, but they were having too much fun!
